If you still have the problem it’s the content manager that’s doing it. I deleted cm, then went into the local files of ac and delete everything except the folders. I’ve also deleted mods folder. Verify the game files in steam and give it a spin.
If you have this issue, here is another way to select a controller preset: close Content Manager if you have it open go to C:\Users\username\Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\extension in file explorer open custom_rendering_modes.ini with Notepad or Notepad++ or whatever program you have that can read .ini files
