Hi ERainbow, Most travelers will start from Lauterbrunnen, then take the cable car and mountain train to Mürren, walk through the village towards the Schilthornbahn then take a cable car down to Stechelberg and hike back to Lauterbrunnen. Here you will find some of the best balcony views in the world, looking down over Lauterbrunnen Valley with the ‘Big 3’ in the distance (Eiger, Jungfrau, Monch). A train trip from Interlaken Ost to Wengen takes just under 40 minutes: 20 minutes by train from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen, and less than 15 minutes by cogwheel from Lauterbrunnen. You'll find all connections in the Swiss timetable. How to reach Wengen by car. Wengen is car-free and you can't drive to the village. 1. Because of Lauterbrunnen’s Picturesque Landscape. A trip to the Jungfrau Region wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Lauterbrunnen. While beauty can be subjective, it’s widely agreed that Lauterbrunnen is one of the most visually stunning places in Switzerland. It feels as close to heaven as you can get on earth. At the terminal, you can take the Eiger Express gondola to the Eiger Glacier and finally to Jungfraujoch. If you wish, you can also take the cable car to Männlichen. Männlichen – Männlichen is a 2,343-metre mountain easily accessible from Wengen and Grindelwald. From Männlichen, you get a fantastic view of Mönch, Eiger, and Jungfrau. From the train station in Wengen you must walk 5-10 minutes to the cable car to Mannlichen. From Mannlichen you have 3 options. You can return by the same cable car to Wengen. Or you can walk to Kleine Scheidegg 1:45 hrs and return To Grindelwald by train. Or normally you could take a cable car strait from Mannlichen to Grindelwald.The hike from Wengen to Leiterhorn offers fantastic views down into the Lauterbrunnen Valley. On a clear day, you’ll also get a great look at the mountain peaks above, including the imposing Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. On my hike, the mountains were shrouded in clouds, but the valley views were still well worth the modest climb.
